After dropping their debut EP in April 2019, Blood Harvest Records are reissuing this doomy and crushing trio of tracks featuring some punishingly visceral Death Metal. Out on February 28th.
Storming in with a crushing blend of doomy riffs and mid-tempo drums, the band picks up into whiplash grooving tremolo assaults with snarling vocals and a totally vile sense of aggression when the blastbeats drop us into chaotic riffing madness. The harsh squeal of guitars really back the vocals up beautifully with a putrid punch and hellish infernos of drum work complete the nasty mix. The stripped back production suits the grisly music excellently and the songwriting is fantastically volatile with plentiful unpredictable twists and turns during the three track EP. The meaty savagery gives way for some thunderously cutting bass tones and really accentuates the swampy filth with limitless amounts of mesmerising riffs and catchy hooks. This is a monolith of pure old school Death Metal that is disturbing and chaotic yet precise and well-driven, pure disgusting grime at its best. The occasional lead guitars offer just enough melodic touches to tie things together without getting out of hand, nicely done too. The second track has some stupidly heavy grooves which totally decimate anything in their path but are balanced by some atmospheric dissonant breaks, utterly marvellous. Packing a triple punch of headbanging fuel, this EP is definitely a promising start to the year for one of Death Metal’s greatest record labels. -8/10
