English Speed Metallers AGGRESSIVE PERFECTOR are here with their debut album, set for release via Dying Victims Productions on November 22nd. Let’s get right into the madness.
Horror movie style cinematic organs and crow calls open this record with a stunningly classic feel to the introduction. Anthemic guitars chime in, building momentum before soaring riffs and pounding drums drop into a truly marvellous assault with gruesomely blackened vocals howled over the decimating instrumentals. There is an epic swagger to the music filled with a punky attitude that only accentuates the savage blows delivered, making for a really fun experience that is incredibly well tied together. There is something that never becomes tiresome about hearing classic Heavy Metal rejuvenated with some touches of extremity, blending accessibility with underground ferocity for all to enjoy. Speeding into an onslaught of ripping guitars, hammering drums and maniacal vocals, this record delivers all that one would expect from a Blackened Speed Metal album, marvellously so.
This is a huge step up for the band from their EP (which is also killer), they have become incredibly tight musicians with a clearer focus that tears through a mesmerisingly fierce performance of vicious thrashing ecstasy. Hauntingly dark, old school and just totally massive sounding, Aggressive Perfector slices through a classic medley of killer songs that will appeal to fans of Midnight, Bewitcher, Wraith and more. With plenty of variety in sound from the band, this album doesn’t become dull at any point with a really punchy and still atmospheric delivery in many parts (especially songs like “Into The Nightmare”) which are rather chilling yet lead into blistering bangers like “Vengeful One” showing an impressive amount of variety in the bands ideas. If you want the kind of Heavy Metal you can sing along to while experiencing obliteration and searing morbidity, this is one of those albums certainly not to ignore. A fantastic debut full length and a really fun record to listen to.
