Black-Thrashing Speed annihilation comes in dual force with a new split between BUNKER 66 and HELLCRASH, set for release via Dying Victims Productions on March 25th.
BUNKER 66 start things off with a salivating punky groove that is full of sleaze and malice, opening the split with fury. The blackened vocals have a carnal touch to them which atop the classically metallic riffing and drums spews so much viciousness into their sound. Fans of B66 will know what I am referring to, and the uninitiated will quickly get it as this slightly dissonance-tinged cut of Black-Speed violence stomps punishing grooves into the skulls of all. A pounding punky anthem of noise and debauchery to spill guts and beer alike. Sometimes simplicity is key, and this track while featuring a whole bunch of cool ideas doesn’t overdo it. The solo is melodic and ripping but doesn’t go on for half the song, the vocals are biting and the whole rhythm section hits like a sledgehammer. Raw, rough and ruthless, a great a-side.

HELLCRASH follow up with more thrashing fury. Blast beats and chunky bass lines rupture the air with razor sharp guitar and vocals cutting the raw mix, harkening back to the earlier Thrash Metal pioneers while harnessing their energy in a way that honours the classics rather than ripping them off. The overall sound is totally maniacal and rough, like a lost gem that was found of the back of some 7″ stack in a Brazilian basement during the mid to late 80s. Motörhead style breaks give this song even more to love while the extremity is often cranked to 11. A bestial onslaught of pure thrashing rage that cannot be tamed.

Both bands bring something overtly obnoxious, metallic and unwelcoming. A split of 2 extremely old school acts who together unleash hellish storms of anarchy. Italy has a lot to offer the underground and here are 2 superb examples stuck together to make a blasphemous cut of wax.
