DEMO REVIEW: Devil’s Vomit – Backwoods Redneck Occult

Finnish Bestial Black-Death Metal savages DEVIL’S VOMIT present their debut demo, out via Headsplit Records in early September.

Blasting into a violent array of grinding riffs and hammering drums, the unforgiving assault of pure malice is bestial carnage from the get-go. Hideously deformed vocals snarl blasphemies upon the ferocious instrumental inferno, taking the music into unholy territories. The stomp of the title track gives the demo a more Beherit / Archgoat style of violent head banging mania before returning to the Canadian style Blasphemy-worship thereafter. Maniacal and malformed, this is intense and insanely brutal with that raw, low-end driven sound that allows the crazed drumming and primitive riffs to remain in the subterranean realms while the vocals further annihilate all weakness in the path of this musical monstrosity. Those crashing cymbal punctuated grooves that intersperse the blasting armageddon gives the riffs breathing room while they decimate with ungodly grinding warfare. Closing with powerful hooks and vitriolic aggression in equal measure, this demo will leave you for dead or craving more mutilating Metal mutiny.

A quick, uneasy and savage listen of bestial carnage. In and out remorse that does not waste a second on anything less than sheer, abrasive barbarity for your listening displeasure. Total mayhem, not for wimps.

Rating: 7.5 out of 10.
