EP REVIEW: Torture Rack – Pit Of Limbs

The Neanderthal Death Metallers in TORTURE RACK return with a brand new 4 track EP. Out on January 22nd via Headsplit Records, Extremely Rotten Productions and Parasitic Records.

Thundering riffs and blastbeats bludgeon into fruition with a barbaric onslaught of pulverising Death Metal. Quickly primal grunts ensue to complete the murky mix of ferociously scolding putridity as the high-speed assault delves into the swampy depths of brutality. Those familiar with Torture Rack can expect the same vein of punishing disdain that we have seen before from the band, those uninitiated will certainly be hit in the guts and quickly see what all the fuss is about. Grooving riffs fire into a whiplash headbanging frenzy to intersperse the rampaging blasts, this material certainly is a fantastic return to form from these grotesque maniacs. Utterly rancid and brilliant.

Chunky baselines and rotten guitar riffs continue to spew ichor from the speakers over an unrelenting drum performance which is all met by some monstrous vocals. Fans of Undergang, Cianide and the like will certainly adore this short and to-the-point EP of pungent and slimy Death Metal malice as across 4 songs, totalling only 7 minutes we see so much filth and aggression delivering with unforgiving brutality. Hopefully this slab of morbidity is a taste of more to come, as this shows a potential for the next album to be something crushing and monolithic.

Some absolutely killer new material from one of the underground gems of the Pacific Northwest. Pure old school Death Metal savagery of epic proportions that offers unending streams of bludgeoning riffs, drums and vocals that will putrefy your very being.

Rating: 8 out of 10.
