ALBUM REVIEW: Töxik Death – Sepulchral Demons

The 2nd album of Norwegian Black-Thrashers TÖXIK DEATH is here, set for release via High Roller Records on August 21st.

Creepy sampling sets us off to an unnerving start, definitely giving a vibe of something fierce coming to get us. Ferocious riffs, hammered drums and maniacal vocals all jump in with full force. Immediately this record demands respect as truly savage Extreme Metal mayhem. Full-throttle ahead, we continue to be thrown through charnel passages of carnage with devastating instrumental and vocal assaults ripping through visceral and incredibly old school sounding Heavy Metal. Sharing a few similarities with fell Norwegians Deathhammer, Aura Noir and Condor, Töxik Death have just as much furious passion and primal aggression in their sound to live up to the high standards of Nordic Black-Thrash.

Thrashing on, we are continually pulverised by d-beat drum onslaughts and buzzsaw riffing, met by the howling vocals of a true madman. This is not easy-listening party Thrash, this is barbaric Extreme Metal played the old way. Grisly and dirty, there is nothing modern or polished about this sound. Delivering total annihilation with a stripped back and simplistic approach, played at full speed and volume. With chaotic changes and blisteringly catchy riffs, all lovers of the late 80s Extreme Metal inception will certainly adore the violent anarchy that Töxik Death have to offer on this record. Unfaltering and magnificently macabre, there is no peace to be found here.

Crushing musicianship delivers punch after punch of relentlessly bestial hellfire, driving forth an unstoppable freighter of pure Heavy Metal butchery. Intoxicating riffs and molten vocals spew over some of the most energetic drumming you will hear this year. Though primal in terms of songwriting, the talent of these musicians is absolutely undeniable. If there was any doubt as to just how fast the speeding ferocity of the record is, then see for yourself and be drawn into the ravenous rampage of extremity and enjoy the ride. Right up ’til the end, we do not lose momentum of see any withering sections, instead this record is a concise inferno of total decimation with a dull moment never in sight.

This album is a monolithic opus of all things evil, fast and insane. Aggressive and untamed, the vicious musical violence of Töxik Death will certainly destroy any who allow themselves to be subjected to this sonic assault of blasphemous speeding glory. Pure Black-Thrash mastery with no remorse. -8.5/10
