EP REVIEW: Antichrist Siege Machine – Filth Of The World

Following their crushing 2019 debut album “Schism Perpetration”, War Metal mob ANTICHRIST SIEGE MACHINE are back with a brand new EP, out now via Stygian Black Hand.

Whammy bar assault drop into a pungent and destructive blend of hammering blastbeats, surging guitar convulsions and blasphemous vocals, spewing together in harmony a most unholy concoction of War Metal. This EP wastes no time in delivering ritualistic warfare and bombarding us with unrelenting instrumentals both primitive and also incredibly tight in playing ability. Storming forth with totally hateful disdain, ASM have nothing but utter chaos, frenzy and obliteration for their listeners.

Blistering solos unravel amidst a tempest of rhythmic battery and decimating soundscapes. Truly an uncompromising and punishing sound from a band that had already won my utmost respect with their last effort, the siege has pushed forth into more territories of darkness and morbidity. Naturally with War Metal, the sound is volatile, unpredictable and abrasive, this being said ASM have a rather polished sound that allows their churning guttural extremity to be as hard-hitting as possible.

Sonic firestorms and occultist artillery are launched forth on all four pieces with no regard for safety or progression, laying waste to all with their primitive conjurations of total chaos and aggression. Truly a ravenous sound that leaves you wanting more yet fully satisfied with plenty of potential for re-listening pleasures (or displeasures) on this EP. Do not allow this underground War Metal gem to go unheard if you consider this a genre of interest.

This EP follows brilliantly on from their last magnificent effort and gives us fans four new slabs of blasphemous brutality to be consumed by. Any fan of bands such as Profanatica, Diocletian, Revenge and Black Witchery will certainly be in awe of relative newcomers (formed in 2016) and their ability to revamp the filthily unhinged tones of the classics in a memorable and renewed manner while keeping true to the sound. Skull-crushing satanic warfare from one of the greatest current bands in the USA. -8.5/10
