LADY BEAST are back with their fourth record of pure classic Heavy Metal. Set for release via Reaper Metal Productions on April 3rd.
Punchy riffs and pounding drums soar right in with a ferocious attack of pure NWOBHM style might, speeding solos drawing further on that classic spirit before a powerful display of vocals complete the utterly stunning mix. Sleazy and groovy with buckets of melody and fantastic musicianship (and the songwriting to match), Lady Beast do not waste a moment in booming back into existence. With the true old school spirit alive we get a gorgeously cutting bass tone through walls of mighty guitars, relentlessly hammering drums and a commanding assault of ripping vocals and lead work to really kick things up a notch.
Blasting and pummelling over and over, this band wield the axe of majestic Metal maniacs, slashing through nine tracks of musical brilliance and glorious commandments from the classic era of the genre, a time long ago but never forgotten with so many excellent bands still repping the style in such ecstatically bold and refreshing ways. Naturally fans of Wolf, Haunt, Savage Master and the like will totally adore this release with its brandishing of rebellious instrumental cascades and vocal harmonies that are as enticing and charming as they are cutting and vicious.
For those who thing Heavy Metal has to be extreme to be good, this is yet another slab of proof that the classic style can as fierce and killer as any Black or Death Metal. Truly an impeccable offering that must not be ignored, lest some of the better “NWOTHM” go unnoticed, but I refuse to let that happen, so heed this call and blast Lady Beast’s new record loud, bang your heads and prepare for pure 80s style annihilation. Blending the melodic thunder of Iron Maiden with the cutting edge of Judas Priest and the catchiness of Angel Witch, this is a recipe for purely maddening and fantastical Heavy Metal, thankfully a land which Lady Beast successfully deliver you into from start to end of their magnificent new record.
With all to love and nothing to hate, fans of unaltered, undiluted and speeding Heavy Metal with the operatic vocals and vibrant instrumental insanity from back in the day, while offering something memorable that stands on its own two feet will certainly adore this tome of mystical Metal fury. I certainly did! -8/10
