ALBUM REVIEW: Blasphamagoatachrist – Bastardizing The Purity

Following their savage debut demo, War Metal maniacs BLASPHAMAGOATACHRIST are back with a full length album, something many have heavily anticipated, myself included. Set for release via Nuclear War Now Production on April 25th!

A typically creepy introduction with horrifically eerie sampling and sounds opens the album before decimation begins. A grisly blend of stomping riffs and pounding drums sets a somewhat doomy groove in before the gnarly howling and barbaric blastbeats meet savage riffs for utterly vicious assault of pure War Metal decimation. With a lineup of seasoned maniacs, there is no doubting how killer this record is going to be, very quickly proving itself with some of the most destructively aggressive and monstrously harsh musical assaults that one could hope for.

This caustic ritual of pure disdain marches forth with a militance in the sound that further accentuates the cavernous blend of disturbing, twisted musical abrasiveness and vocal snarls, making for an uncomfortably brilliant listen that captures the Ross Bay Cult sound immensely well. A cacophonous slab of pure Extreme Metal excellence that harnesses primitive musical attacks into a fine-tuned spearhead of blasphemous obliteration, this album will have all maniacs going insane for the craziness of Blasphamagoatachrist without hesitation for this follows the demo beautifully. Malignant, primal, chaotic, visceral and unholy, all the things I would hope for and more delivered by some of the fiercest musicians on the planet.

Purely inhuman and relentlessly savage, the songwriting may have grown but that doesn’t mean we lose any of the bite from the prior material, in fact this record delves further into guttural extremity and simply spews forth astoundingly ritualistic violence effortlessly. Total nuclear armageddon in the filthiest musical form imaginable. -8/10
