From Me Saco Un Ojo Records I received the 7″ 2 track EP debut from VOID TERROR, it is available now and I thought I would share my opinions.
So the record blares in with putrid riffing, a gruesome take on Old School Death Metal but with plenty of influence from the early Swedish movement too adding some crawling grooves and d-beat breaks that hit like a brick wall. The tonality of the instruments is perfectly suited to the music as is the fetid production style, each section clearly chosen with care to work together and make for a seamless experience. The driven riffing and vomited vocals overlay lurking drum beats which such excellence that the very speakers spew out the music with a sludgy ichor. Pummelling drum ferocity brutally backs up a barrage of stunningly varied riff mastery and demonic vocals. This unholy concoction may not last very long but holy hell is it crushingly heavy with decimating blows delivered effortlessly by the whole band. I am going to keep this review short so you guys can check out the EP even sooner, but make sure you do not let it pass you by any longer than it must because I am kicking myself for only hearing it now. Grotesque and dripping in ooze, this is one of the finest slices of meaty fury you can hear, go and listen to this slimy, bludgeoning assault. -9/10
