ALBUM REVIEW: Ringarë – Under Pale Moon

Here is my belated review of the new Ringarë album, out now via Iron Bone Production. I decided to share my thoughts on one of the most beautifully atmospheric Black Metal albums to be released this year.

Setting in with glacial synths, then thundering bass guitars, the album quickly launches into barrages of purely gorgeous Symphonic Black Metal with huge walls of instrumentals filled with atmosphere that is densely layered for the haunting screams to coat beautifully. Throughout the album we are given enticing folky melodies and medieval soundscapes with fantastic riffing and melodious songwriting that is inescapable with an antiquity and tranquility to be found consistently in this opus of hypnotic Black Metal. Fans of bands like Gardsghastr and Vargrav will certainly be pleased by these four delightedly mesmerising and intricate songs. With instrumentals rawly blended among eerie vocals, the monstrous density of the layers of brilliance hit hard and stay strong throughout with an unwavering atmosphere. Cascading with a nuanced and ferocious songwriting style that intricately pulls you into a dark and archaic soundscape, brooding with melody and some of the most wondrous atmospherics you will hear, this is a totally stunning and magnificent album from start to end. -9/10
