Here I review the new 2 track EP from Black Metal aggressors, REVENGE! The release is via Season Of Mist Underground Archivists.
- Diseased Intrusion grinds in with furious noise, growls and hectic drums that punish you wish truly insane Extreme Metal mania. The ridiculously epic groove and convulsive violence of the song is incredibly impressive and very well performed. This is an excellent return from a legendary War Metal band brining chaos to the listener, the raw assault is absolutely perfect for the band and a lengthy 4 minutes of ferocity and piercing riffs, intense drums and grisly vocals. Simply wonderful!
- Deceiver Futile comes straight back with more noisy guitars and relentless aggression. The hideously morbid vocals drape over the ridiculously fast paced guitars and drums to create walls of pure hatred that hit you with full force. This music should make you feel uncomfortable but in an exhilarating way, I think in that respect the band have perfected their art. This song fluidly continues from the first to just assault every fibre of your being, no technicality required just speed and menacing attack. Excellent work.
REVENGE are back with full fury, 2 songs of dangerously aggressive, supremely played Black Metal. While this style may not appeal to the general Black Metal fans, the raw music lovers of the “War Metal” genre are rewarded with this EP that sheerly invigorates chaos and violence, unfolding quickly but brutally. -8/10
